While she is a self-proclaimed crafts person, Lisa didn’t discover artistic jewelry until her daughter needed a necklace to match her prom dress. The resulting string of beads fed her longtime fascination with handmade glass and turned Lisa into a lampwork bead specialist. It also transformed her now graduated daughter’s bedroom into a home studio.
She is co-owner of Indy Flame Art, a ten torch lampworking studio in downtown Indianapolis, where she teaches lampworking, electroforming, lapidary and other cold work processes. In addition to teaching locally, Lisa travels to other studios and has accepted teaching invitations in Germany and Switzerland.
