3RD YEAR IN A ROW! PETE BAXTER SELECTED FOR “EARLY AMERICAN LIFE” DIRECTORY

.
Pete submitted his work for review in this annual competition, which focuses on the artist’s, and the work’s, preservation of American history. In late May, the magazine will promote the Directory, and the artisans in it, on its website, and will feature a short bio of Pete.

(April 24, 2014) Early American Life magazine again selected Indiana Artisan Pete Baxter for inclusion in its annual Directory of Traditional American Crafts.  The Directory includes a distinguished group of craftspeople, listed in a variety of media, and Pete’s work with Shaker boxes has brought him this recognition for the third year.

For the past 45 years, Early American Life has promoted traditional craftsmanship, providing its national readership with comprehensive information on early American crafts, their history, function, and the importance of their preservation.  Like Indiana Artisan, it is committed to promoting individual craftspeople and their artistry. According to the magazine, “As a Directory artisan, Pete ranks as one of the most talented of them all.”
